Through The Years

Such an eager-to-please puppy!  (April 23, 2007)

Her tail was always wagging, just the happiest dog I've ever been around.  (April 23, 2007)

She loved nothing more in the world than belly rubs, even when sleeping:

She did to a lot of sleeping, often in weird positions.  (April 24, 2011)

You guys to ahead to bed, I'll turn off the TV when I'm done.  (November 14, 2010)

She was probably taking cover from the wind.  She was terrified of wind for whatever reason, and she sought out either our closet or one of the bathrooms.  She had natural tornado instincts.

I took this picture after watching her struggle for about 5 minutes to get out of this chaise lounge.  She eventually realized she was going to need my help to get out of this predicament:

But she helped me just as much.  If I let out a sigh of frustration at my computer, she'd come up to me and nuzzle her head on my arm, and if that didn't help, she'd start climbing into my lap or put her front paws on my desk.  I wish I had a picture of her with her paws on my desk, looking at my computer: "What's the problem, Dad, can I help with this Excel file?"

In fact, here she is keeping an eye on me in my office:

We played paper-rock-scissors to see who got to drive:

February 2, 2009, her second birthday:

This didn't require 53 takes or anything.  (December 9, 2007)

Ditto.  (Thanksgiving 2012)

Judging from the look on my face, I can only assume she just planted a nice slobbery kiss inside my ear:

I really regret never teaching her to jump off the diving board:

Let me get this straight, ALL of those toys are fair game:

This is missing a little something, perhaps a little Triple Sec:

This is too easy, no caption required:

She LOVED to give hugs.  (Christmas 2012)

Kisses too.  (Christmas 2008)

Or just sit silently with you and watch TV.  (Thanksgiving 2007)

Or take naps of course.  (Thanksgiving 2012)

The downside to letting Vincey up on our couch is that she thought ALL couches were hers, and if you weren't moving for her, well, she wound up in your lap:

Lobster, meet dog.  Dog, lobster.  (Valentines Day 2010)

Dog wins:
